Winter is well and truly here in Melbourne.
But unlike Canberra winters, there’s no walking to the bu stop in the minus degrees Celsius temperatures, and there doesn’t appear to be a sea of black wearing public servants everywhere.
Seeing all the fabulous fashion worn by Melbournians always gets me inspired to put my best foot forward in my own outfits.
So I decided to try another 30 by 30 Remix.
For those who don’t know what a 30 by 30 Challenge is, it’s where you take 30 items from your closet and only wear those
I was originally planning to start off at the start of August but as I was overseas and then starting a new job all in the first 2 weeks of August, I thought I should probably hold off on the challenge until I knew the dress code for work.
And I was so happy to find out that my work has a dress code called “Dress For Your Day”. Essentially that means that you wear what is suitable for your and for your day. So you can wear suits and corporate wear, but yo can also wear jeans if you want to and if that suits you.
A sneak peek of one of my outfits
It basically takes the idea that as adults, we should be able to determine what is suitable for work. There is of course the warning not to wear thongs (flip flops) because of safety reasons, and that if you choose to wear ripped or dirty clothes, that may not reflect well on you but it is ultimately your choice.
This is a great change from the lawyer wardrobe I have worn for many years. Although I have always attempted to wear lots of colour and create a fun work wardrobe, it’s isn’t always accepted as “appropriate” in the lawyer world.
Now I can happily inject colour into my wardrobe and for it to be celebrated.
So that is why this 30 by 30 has lots of pink colours in it. It’s my favourite and signature colour, so I want to wear lots of it for the next 30 days.
As per usual I used my Stylebook app to put together the list of 30 clothes.
Click here for my review on the Stylebook app with plenty of tips on how to use it to maximise style, your wardrobe and organisation.
This challenge is from 19 August until 18 September. Be sure to head on over to Facebook or twitter where I post my daily outfit of the day photos.
I can’t wait to share them all with you and to share my wrap up at the end of the challenge.
Have you done a 30 by 30 Challenge before? How did you go? Let me know in the comments section below!
