Being a small city, Canberra often misses out on big fashion related events. Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and Sydney has Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and they are fabulous events, often star studden and full of glamour.
So you wouldn’t expect Canberra to have anything like this, right?
Well not exactly…
Canberra now has its own modest fashion week, but it is slowly gaining traction to become a nationally known event. It is called Fashfest.
In 2016 it was in its 4th year, and had 6 shows over 3 nights, showcasing talent of fashion designers, boutique stores, makeup artists, hair stylist, photographers, musicians, and artists from many backgrounds.
I knew I had to go this year and got tickets to the final show on Saturday night. I was very excited to be given VIP seats and got a very close look at some of the beautiful and bold designs.
Here is a peak of some of my favourite designs featured on the Fashfest runway.
Did you attend Fashfest this year? What are your thoughts on the designs featured in the final show? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
Bye for now,
