Fifties Floral Affair

When I saw this dress online, I fell in love with it. It looked like a quintessential fifties housewife dress – the full skirt, the buttons, the classic blue floral print… It’s a perfect dress! And it’s perfect for spring.

Today I got to dress up in full fifties pin up style with the pin curls, winged eyeliner and matching blue gloves.

It was a public holiday in Canberra today so it was the perfect opportunity for a photoshoot. And with the weather gods looking favourably upon us today, an outdoor photoshoot was a must!
We walked around the centre of Canberra to get a few different shots. I love this one in front of the water fountain… The water droplets have been catered so well!
But of course, modelling is hard work, so it helps to sit down an ponder your next pose… Or maybe I was just soaking up the glorious Canberra sunshine!?
Thank you to The photographer Chris van Aarken for suggesting this photoshoot and also thank you to my sister Tess for doing her usual behind the scenes assistance!
